Scope of Work

Confidential Utility Client – ADMS Technical Training Program

The instructional design project for a confidential utility company involved the development of a robust technical training curriculum supporting an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS). The ADMS platform enables automation and optimization of the electric distribution grid, including outage restoration, volt/VAR control, peak demand management, and more. Training was developed to support the operational performance of Distribution Dispatchers across multiple real-time scenarios.

Project Objectives

  • Design a comprehensive training curriculum that supports real-time grid operation functions.

  • Enhance dispatcher proficiency in handling complex ADMS tools and procedures.

  • Incorporate a systematic training approach (SAT) aligned with regulatory and operational standards.

  • Improve dispatcher response through simulated emergency and routine scenarios.

Deliverables

Needs Analysis Report

  • Identify required dispatcher competencies related to ADMS tools and procedures.

  • Review prior switching events and lessons learned to inform training content.

Instructional Content

  • Develop over 100 interactive eLearning modules using Articulate Storyline.

  • Design simulation-based exercises and knowledge checks.

  • Write and edit all instructional scripts, totaling over 167,000 characters.
