LEARNING GOALS:
I can make a waterlily flower (pinch pot) & lily pad (slab) out of clay. I can attach the waterlily to the lily pad by  SAFELY using a pin tool . I can demonstrate safe handling & use of the pin tool while scoring, slipping and pressing the two clay forms together.

STRETCH:

I can add an insect or amphibian to my lily pad. I can investigate fresh water pond habitats and ecosystems.  

I can distiguish between 2D and 3D forms

ACADEMIC LEARNING STANDARDS: Ohio Visual Arts

  • 1PR Demonstrate beginning skills and craftsmanship in the use of art materials and tools.

  • 4PR Explore and describe how a select art object was made. 

DIFFERENTIATION

• Use easy grip or adaptive pin tools and pin tool holder.

• Provide stationary work area/mat that is taped down.

• Offer gloves for students with tactile aversion.

• Written work/rubric: accommodations & modifications will be made for students based upon their IEP or 504.
