Erin Delventhal
Artist Bio
Erin's love of exploring posibilities began in southern Ohio while growing up on a farm. Enjoying art from a young age, she began to cultivate her creativity by pressing boundaries and exploring new horizons.
In 1996, Erin received a Bachelor of Arts in Art from Xavier University with a minor in Biology. She continued her art training after college while studying abroad as a Fulbright Arts Scholar in Germany. During that time she pursued illustration and sculpture at the University of Fine Arts Hamburg, Germany while traveling extensively to art museums and cities throughout eastern and western Europe.
Upon returning to the states in 1998, Erin established herself as a Medical Illustrator in San Francisco, which combined her love of science and art. The majority of her medical art and animations were created for the medical research, healthcare and education sector. While in the Bay Area, she also taught painting, drawing, illustration and ceramics at various Bay Area art institutions.
In 2003, Erin moved to Hawaii. Inspired by her surroundings, she focused on landscape and seascape painting. Her work was represented in numerous island galleries (Wyland Gallery, Haleiwa, Island Treasures, Global Creations and Local Living Kailua). Erin also balanced her fine art career with helping to create & develop an art program at her children's schools in Hawaii. While teaching, she also created and developed the Student Farmer's Market Program at Sunset Beach Elementary.
In 2012, Erin created Paint the Night Away and Paint the Day Away, an island inspired social painting company, which taught over 6,000 adults and children to create and celebrate painting. Erin sold her business upon her families' decision to move to Rocky River, Ohio in December of 2014.
Currently, Erin is teaching at St. Raphael School in Bay Village, Ohio. Her curriculum provides a strong foundation in the visual arts while incorporating STEM and Project Based Learning projects.
Embrace the choas - That is from where you can create something that was never possible before.
